Excursions
The East Pyrenees region extends inland from the Mediterranean in the east and is separated from Spain by the Pyrenees mountains. There is an extraordinary variety of scenery from the coastal beaches to the Cerdagne mountains.
The land is reputed for its vineyards and orchards, watched over by a mythical peak: le Canigou.
It is a land of light where art has flourished. Visit its Roman chapels, and citadels such as Collioure, cradle of the fauvism art style; Perpignan, capital of the kings of Majorca; Céret with its modern art museum; or Amélie les Bains with its spa.
All these sites rich in history can be visited in a day or a half-day from Le Soleil camp site.
